Players Cup

Players Cup is an online tournament firstly created in 2020 after the cancellation of the circuit due to the pandemic.
Top 4 players recieve a Travel Award for future International Championship of their choosing.

Santino Tarquinio

Santino “supahsanti” Tarquinio is a US player and the 2020 Players Cup Champion. In only one season, Santino went from taking competitive Pokémon seriously to becoming the Players Cup Champion, his biggest accomplishment so far.

Jiseok Lee

Jiseok “Meluca” Lee is a South Korean VGC player and the 2020 Pokémon Players Cup finalist. Most known by his accomplishments in his country of birth, between 2016 and 2017 he obtained notable results in the Korean circuit. The most distinguishable, 2016 Korean National Championship. As a consequence, he obtained a Day 2 invite to San Francisco World Championship

Premier Challenge

Premier Challenges are the smallest events from the VG Play Pokémon circuit. They provide a minor amount of Championship Points. In addition, TO (Tournament Organizers) may include prize pools to stimulate the competitive scene in that area.

International

International Championships are the largest events before Worlds. Since 2016, this tournament is held in 4 different regions: Europe, North America, Latinamerica and Oceania.

They are in-person events where players spend around 3 days competing. Firstly, nine swiss rounds from which x-2 players should continue to the next stage. The following day, those competitors are reduced to a Top Cut which modifies depending on the attendance. This day also should determine the finalists. The third and last day, every single division and category plays on streaming its corresponding final matches.

Bariş Akcoş

Baris “Billa” Ackos is a german VGC player, judge and caster. His VGC career goes back to 2013 when, in his first WCS appearance he got a Top 16 in Vancouver. Since then, he has obtained several good performances around the world and, in addition, becoming the first player to compete in all continents. 3 years after his first Pokémon World Championship, Baris got his best result so far: an 8th place in San Francisco WCS.

Jens Arne Maekinen

Jens Arne Maekinen is a Norwegian VGC player and x2 times world competitor. 2017-2018 season has been his most accomplished format so far with excellent results internationally. During that year, Jens managed to obtained two Top 8 in Regional and Spe championships and astonishing performances in Oceania and Worlds.

Meaghan Rattle

Meaghan Rattle is an Australian player. Her VGC carreer started in 2016 when she made Day 2 in her first worlds appearance. She managed to get a Top 8 in Worlds twice in her VGC career: Washington 2019 and London 2022.
